This weighs 3.40 CTS and has been cut into an oval shape. The measurements are approximately 12.1 x 10.1 x 5.9 mm. The stone has an excellent play of color with flashes that encompass the entire surface of the gem. A luminous green is the dominant coloring but there is also a notable amount of a firey red, as well as some gold and blue flashes. As with all opals, the color is most intense when viewed under a light source, either artificial or sunlight. This is a natural gemstone and has been smoke treated to enhance color. Don't be fooled by lesser imitations, this is not a doublet or filled product, this is solid earth mined stone. There is no discernable damage or chips and is in excellent condition.
