This weighs 2.75 CTS and has been cut into a pear shape. The measurements are approximately 11.7 x 9.1 x 5.3 mm. The stone has a brilliant play of color that encompasses the entire area of the gem. Bright flashes of red and gold are the dominant colors, although a considerable amount of gold, orange and purple can also be seen shifting and traveling throughout its surface. As with all opals, the colors are most intense when viewed under a light source, either artificial or sunlight. This is a natural gemstone and has been smoke treated to enhance color. Don't be fooled by lesser imitations. This is not a doublet or filled product, this is solid earth mined stone. There is no discernable damage or chips and is in excellent condition.
