This weighs 2.65 CTS and has been cut into an oval shape. The measurements are approximately 15.2 x 8.6 x 4.5 mm. The stone has an impressive firey play of color, with the dominant colors being red and green. There is a large extremely bright section of iridescent red that seems to almost explode within the surface. There is other shifting tones visible such as gold and blue. As with all opals, the colors are most intense when viewed under a light source, either artificial or sunlight. This is a natural gemstone and has been smoke treated to enhance color. Don't be fooled by lesser imitations. This is not a doublet or filled product, this is solid earth mined stone. There is no discernable damage or chips and is in excellent condition.
