This weighs 3.45 CTS and has been cut into a pear shape. The measurements are approximately 12.3 x 9.6 x 5.8 mm. The stone has a highly interesting and impressive play of color. On many angles a bright red and gold internal " fire" radiates throughout the surface. On other angles the gem appears to light up with a neon - like green luminance. Other beautiful flashes of color are evident such as orange, purple, green and blue. Almost every color of the rainbow is represented in a dazzling optical display. As with all opals, the colors are most intense when viewed under a light source, either artificial or sunlight. This is a natural gemstone and has been smoke treated to enhance color. Don't be fooled by lesser imitations. This is not a doublet or filled product, this is solid earth mined stone. There is no discernable damage or chips and is in excellent condition.
